What is CWEP?


The Community Work Experience Program (CWEP) is designed to provide unemployed workers with an opportunity to enhance job skills and facilitate re-entry into unsubsidized permanent employment.




How Can You Participate?


CWEP worksites must be with public or private non-profit employers. Worksites are limited to projects that serve useful public services such as health, social service, environmental protection, education, public facilities, public safety, community service, services to aged or disabled citizens and child care.




What Kind of Workers are You Going to Get?


We will help you select candidates that best fit your agency’s needs from a pool of skilled workers.




What are Your Obligations?


  • Provide work that will enhance employability
  • Supervise the employee
  • Evaluate employee on attendance, work quality, cooperation and punctuality
  • Keep records of hours worked by employee



What are the Responsibilities of Employment Services?


  • Find appropriate workers for your worksite
  • Provide an injury protection program
  • Assist in resolving difficulties
  • Will consider funds (including transportation) for workers



How Much Does it Cost?


The participant will work for a pre-agreed upon amount of hours per week, for up to 4 weeks, in exchange for the opportunity to learn additional job skills. There is absolutely NO COST to your organization!
