Applicants have a variety of work experience and skills. Participants in our programs often have a strong drive to regain self-sufficiency and economic stability for their families and are committed to long-term employment.
Your business could qualify for certain tax credits when you employ applicants receiving public assistance.
The Minnesota Family Investment Program is a work program designed to reduce dependence on public programs and increase self-sufficiency in families. Employers participate in the effectiveness of our goal by hiring our applicants and allowing them an opportunity to utilize their skills in the workplace.
Applicants are heavily pre-screened to determine child care, transportation, skill levels, criminal history and overall job readiness. We see that an applicant has the necessary work documents such as a driver’s license, state identification card and social security card.
Our professional staff of Training Consultants, Interpreters, Job Mentors, Job Coaches and Job Placement Specialists are available to employers to assist in mediation, interpretation, orientation, safety instruction and problem-solving issues.
